Career Growth Musings
Typically, I try to cycle through the books I’m reading in groups of threes — business/professional, fun, and personal growth. I just finished a Rob Bell book called “How to Be Here” which was a little too fluffy for me; felt more like a Donald Miller ‘million miles’ retread without the depth and amusing stories.
I’m currently going through Radical Candor by Kim Scott and in the first couple of chapters something immediately stuck out to me about types of people and which one I am. It’s about what she calls a Rock Star vs a SuperStar. Rock stars are solid but not all about climbing the corporate ladder etc. Instead they want to stay with the job where they’re at and get better at it. Superstars want to keep learning more and more and gain more authority etc at work.
